The OraStretch Press offers an effortless mechanism with exceptional results. The user places a pair of mouthpieces between the upper and lower teeth and squeezes the handles to open the jaw – delivering a controlled and passive stretch. This motion mobilises the temporomandibular joint whilst lengthening the surrounding muscles and soft tissue, following the jaw’s natural anatomy to ensure safe rehabilitation. For patients carrying out therapy at home, this level of control and simplicity encourages compliance as daily use is realistic.
The built-in limit screw allows the user to set a maximum opening, preventing any overstretching. An integrated scale and marker let the patient track their opening over time, permitting measurable rehabilitation. Because progress in jaw recovery is counted in millimetres gained over weeks, handing patients this ability to record and see improvement supports motivation further.

Until this very moment, the cost of the device has been a significant barrier for many patients who would benefit greatly from it. With OraStretch listed on the Drug Tariff, patients will only pay the standard NHS prescription charge of £9.90 rather than the full cost of the device.
The device is intended for daily use over a long-term period, substantially improving patient wellbeing and comfort. It means patients can begin therapy promptly, at the exact point their clinician recommends it, instead of being restricted by the expense.
OraStretch can be prescribed by dentists, speech and language therapists, doctors, nurse consultants… and pretty much anyone who prescribes! Such a range of options makes it even more possible for any patient to actually reach jaw rehabilitation. From a patient recovering from head and neck cancer or temporomandibular dysfunction to someone who has experienced facial trauma or a stroke, each respective patient will come through a different clinical route, and all those routes now lead to the same funded option.
Hospitals and clinicians can also now formally recommend OraStretch as a funded item, which makes the conversation with patients considerably more straightforward.
